Ever since I had a camera for my use, I've been fascinated with taking pictures of other people taking pictures -- having said that, it never occured to me to take a picture of myself taking a picture (mirror shots don't count) until this 'on the street' challenge from Self Portrait Challenge. So here's me taking a picture of myself pretending to be doing sniper street photography:
Fireworks of Glass (at the Indianapolis Childrens Museum) is the largest permanent sculpture of blown glass by renowned artist Dale Chihuly. The 43-foot-tall tower rises above a glass ceiling.
I was recently contacted by the publisher of a geometry/math book about using this image in their book. They asked me for the full resolution image and I explained that this was it. They're still looking into whether or not they'll be able to use it despite its small size. I've had at least one other similar situation come up recently that is yet to be resolved. If for no other (and there are plenty), this is one reason why I'm glad to have my new camera.
It's funny -- when I first heard the theme for May, I was intrigued, but considered sitting it out altogether because I wasn't sure I'd be able to come up with any ideas. Now I have more than I'll probably be able to do. I don't know if I'll be able to pull some of them off though, we'll see how the month goes.
Here's one idea I had using shadows for the 'creepy' factor:

Sunday was another beautiful day, so Hannah and I headed to a local park for a good part of the afternoon while Christy got some much-needed Harrison-time.
Here are some pictures from our time at the park:
While we were eating dinner that evening, Harrison was on a blanket on the floor and rolled from his back to his tummy for the very first time. He couldn't believe it:
This past weekend, we took advantage of a beautiful Spring day (and a nearly expired Zoo membership) and went to the Indianapolis Zoo.
Here are a few pictures from our day: Does anybody who knows Christy's cousin Dana see a bit of her in Hannah in this picture? I'd never seen it before, but it jumped out at me in this picture.
